ART is just being developed. We plan to make a beta release available as soon as some missing functionality essential for rendering has been added Please do NOT ask as for an early copy right now, because we need to clean up some parts of ART before making it available. For further explanations of this see our FAQ.
What compiler do I need for ART?ART is a crossplatform rendering system and compiles on all systems with the GNU cc compiler and a working GNU Objective-C runtime (included in the GNU cc standard distribution).
What platforms does ART run on?The current internal release of ART has been tested under Linux (Intel and PPC). Previous releases have been known to run under Linux (64 bit alpha), Solaris, HP-UX, Irix (Mips), and NeXTStep (Intel) and Developer Releases of Mac OS X Server. It is pretty safe to assume that the current version of ART will work on most (if not all) of the systems where it has worked once before; however, since we do not test every internal release against each possible platform we limit ourselves to claiming the proven targets.
The authors of ART will not invest any effort into ports to Microsoft Operating Systems. Although GNU cc is available under these systems, the effort of porting and maintaining a non-UNIX release is too high for their limited time resources.
